I am a physics major well on the way to becoming a mad scientist, so it should be no surprise that I love science fiction films.  I appreciate their creativity and enjoy seeing cool things that do not exist at the present time.  I am also more critical towards them since they are often unconvincing, illogical, juvenile, or unrealistic.  I especially dislike bad movie science, but can compromise if the movie is reasonably consistent and excels in other areas (for example, Back to the Future).  My favorite movie is 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Additionally, I enjoy older classics spanning all the way back to A Trip to the Moon (1902), especially those which have historical significance.  Other than that, I watch movies of all types as long as I have reason to believe that they are insightful and worth my time.
